The story of the store began when Robert A. Bernhard, Sr. started Dot’s on Patterson Rd in 1951. Later that store became the Imperial Foodtown store. In 1974, Imperial Foodtown stores were sold outside the family market. It wasn't until 1984 when the Patterson Rd and Bellbrook stores were re-opened as Dot’s Markets as they are today.
