When was RENT-A-CENTER created?

The history of Rent-A-Center dates back to 1960 by Ernie Talley, a business owner in Wichita, Kansas who, realizing the problems of the working class who could not be able to buy goods because they didn't have cash, came up with an idea to make it easier for them to buy goods. In the same year, Talley opened the first rent-to-own store, called Mr. T's TV Rental in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In 1973 a company employee and W. Frank Barton founded Rent-A-Center in Wichita, Kansas.
